It seems that unless we are able to install an optical ad-blocker it’s impossible to avoid being continually bombarded with advertisements. Everyone out there wants to sell us something, and advertisers are very good at what they do. With the addition of a single word, they’re able to make their product seem so much more attractive, even if the word is meaningless. We’ll tell you ten of the tricks that advertisers use in order to get you to purchase their product or service. If you’ve ever purchased something because of its organic label, you’re far from the only one. But that label might not mean what you think it does. It seems like antioxidant is the new healthy buzzword, and people are willing to shell out cash for products they think are healthy. We’ll explain why just reading the label on a product that contains antioxidants isn’t enough to make an informed decision. When it comes to establishing a mascot for their brand, advertisers are well aware of anthropomorphism which means that the smiling creature trying to sell you car insurance is also trying to manipulate you. We’ll also debunk some advertising claims made by some of your favorite breakfast beverages such as decaf coffee, bottled water, and orange juice. How many of you actually know what it means when your juice claims to be from concentrate? In pursuit of a good value, we can let our fear of loss make us fall for the decoy effect which is used more often than you might think.

  2. amazing McDs offer a "medium" when only offering two choices.. medium by definition is between a small and large.
it's almost as if A-mericans don't understand the English language.

  3. I'm sorry to inform you, but when you stated that dogs don't smile (12:18) well that's not true. EVERY dog do smile, and some actually show their teeth (it looks really bizarre and sometimes scary) but Dogs DO SMILE. Keep the videos coming. I love them

  4. Actually most civilised countries such as in Europe and japan are moving AWAY from adding sodium floride in their public water supply. that alone is just another scam. Toothpast alredy has sodium floride, so WHY must one be FORCED to consume it , bathe in it, and swim in such? NO REASON WHATSOEVER, again it is a SCAM. Most sodium floride hs been produced (and dumped indiscriminately as PLUTONIUM WASTE (YESà NUCLEAR waste product)! Do YOU want to drink that! This is WHY bottled water companies do NOT add Fluoridation as to gib^ve their sane customers a CHOICE, and ALTERNATIVE! …One last thing, in the States (Trumpland) I ALWAYS try to shy away from McDiarrhoea! I get that, so  this is why this name for them from me! Some artificial (secret) chemical(s) causes me to experience the Hershey squirts.

  5. For those of you who are saying that their tap water is making them sick, get it tested immediately! I don't drink water, bottled or otherwise. My husband does. He got very sick once and wasn't getting better. Nothing would stay down. I was making him Gatorade with filtered tap water. Turns out that my well is so contaminated that it is not fir for human OR animal consumption. We've been on bottled water for 9 years now. They can't figure out a system to remove all of the contaminates in our water. Even boiling it does not help. So you cannot cook with it, rinse food with it, drink it. I still have to wash dishes, clothes and shower in it but I don't use it to brush my teeth. I'm not getting into the chlorine or chloride or fluorine or fluoride discussion. I've studied more about water than I ever wanted to know. If you think fluoride is bad, try having 1,000 times the legal amount of iron or 100 times the legal amounts or calcium. So if tap water makes you sick, have it tested! And make sure that the tests are not just for E. coli. An in depth water study by your local department of health or, if you can afford it, an engineering firm will test your water for a fee.

  6. While most if not all of the rest you said is good and true information, your supersimplification of the anthropomorphism process was very condescending, very patronizing. Please don't make it sound as if this a childish attitude and it's easily controllable because it's not. It's a seriously ingrained human feature whose neurological caracteristics poured into the sociological realm and merged inextricably with it. I know the topic in-hand is how adventising industry uses it on its favour but you could have explined it more seriously. Your whole exposition had this awkward fairytale singsong mood.

  7. Fluoride cannot enter your teeth through the enamel… I can't believe she made such an ignorant statement. It also coats your Pineal gland with a hard shell keeping you 'Blind' in your 3rd eye, and effects your brain chemistry. Also, its the Fluoride plus ++ and + IONS that help your teeth and you can only get that in food not the raw Fluoride that is in water. JEEZUS JIMINY CHRISTMAS CHRIST YOU IS IGNANT! I can't stress enough how bad drinking Fluoride is for your health.

  8. ok, items can actually be organic that go into something that is ultimately unhealthy, eg mac n cheese. but can they put labels on items that are NOT actually organic, eg have pesticides and chemicals?

  9. Propaganda and fear mongering. Yea corporate companies are greedy but the water, the juice and the other natural foods aren't just to "trick" you. The prices, is another story, but the vast majority of the time, you're getting what you pay for..

  10. I actually noticed #1 on my own years ago. Ordered a medium and large fry together and I didn't count or measure… but could tell there was very little difference if any at all. I don't do fast food anymore, but while I still did I didn't order large fries anymore.
