A Word from the Author

In my 19 years as a Chief Creative Director in advertising agencies, I have created advertisements of all types: Newspaper and magazine ads, billboards, radio commercials, TV commercials, brochures and pamphlets of all types. I have created advertisements for food and high-tech companies, schools and universities, motor company and fashion houses, internet service providers and international calling companies, baby toys, furniture, blankets... you name it.

The idea of waking up at the crack of dawn for a day of filming TV commercials in the desert with a group of free style parachutists, or shooting a scene with 200 extras in a deserted city in a foreign country might appeal to some, however, for me, it is more exciting, challenging and pleasurable to create a written advertisement for sales. There are probably many copywriters or art directors in advertisement agencies that will smirk at these lines, but I am convinced that the ability to influence the reader, using minimal resources in a short period of time, to initiate an immediate reaction is a kind of magic.
